A longer panel warranty does not necessarily mean the entire TV is covered for the same period. Before arranging an LG OLED repair, check the exact model's parts, panel and labor terms separately.
A specific G5 example
LG's US support page for OLED77G5WUA, the 77-inch 2025 G5, lists one year for parts and labor. It separately lists OLED display-panel coverage in years two through five, with labor charged. The detailed warranty supplied with the product governs the conditions. LG's model-specific warranty.
That example does not establish the terms for a C-series or B-series TV, another model year, or a TV purchased in another country. It also does not establish that every visible screen issue qualifies as a covered panel defect.
Make three coverage notes
Our suggested preparation is to turn your own warranty into three short notes:
| What to record | Question to resolve |
|---|---|
| General parts coverage | Which components and dates are included? |
| Display-panel coverage | Is there a separate period, and what faults qualify? |
| Labor and service costs | Who pays for diagnosis, labor, transport or a visit at this point? |
Use LG's warranty lookup to locate the correct model information. Keep the supplied warranty and receipt with it. LG also links a separate Premium Care service plan; check any purchased plan's own agreement rather than assuming it matches the included warranty.
Describe the screen problem before diagnosing it
Our suggested fault record includes when the symptom started, whether it appears in the TV's own menus, and which inputs or content were in use. A photo can help show a line or patch that is difficult to describe. Follow LG's safe troubleshooting instructions for the model.
Avoid describing every mark as “burn-in” or every black screen as “panel failure.” State what you can observe and let the service assessment establish the cause. This guide does not determine whether burn-in, accidental damage or your particular symptom is covered.
Ask for a complete estimate
For a TV with some remaining panel coverage, our suggested question is:
If this is a covered panel defect, which charges would I still pay? Please separate the panel, labor, diagnosis, transport and any other service costs before I approve the work.
Keep the estimate, authorization and final service record. A short coverage headline is not enough to work out a repair's total cost.
Does five-year panel coverage mean five years of free repairs?
Not in the named G5 example above: its later panel period charges labor. Check your own model's full terms.
Is a protection plan the same as panel coverage?
Treat them as separate agreements. Use the protection-plan comparison checklist to examine what an additional plan actually adds.
