Getting started

What does WarrantyDaddy actually do?

It gives your purchase details, receipts, warranty documents, product photos, and important dates one home. Find an original, check a recorded expiry date, or prepare a claim draft. WarrantyDaddy is an organizer; the company that sold or made your product decides coverage and remedies.

Can I use the website and iPhone app together?

Yes. Use the same WarrantyDaddy account for your web and iPhone vault. Uploaded documents live on our server, not only on your phone. The iPhone app adds native document scanning and optional reminders; its public App Store release is still being prepared.

Can I start a trial right now?

You can create an account today. Trials and purchases are still being prepared for launch. Creating an account does not start a trial or charge you. The app shows when purchasing becomes available; the payment provider then confirms the price and trial eligibility.

Does WarrantyDaddy extend or replace my warranty?

No. Saving paperwork does not create coverage, extend a deadline, or insure a product. Read the manufacturer’s warranty and any applicable consumer rights. A date in your vault is a reminder to check those terms, not a guarantee that a fault is covered.

Scanning & originals

What should I photograph?

Start with a readable receipt or order confirmation. Add the product’s model and serial-number label, then its warranty pages. Keep one product in each batch. Good light, a flat page, and visible corners make the details easier to read.

Which files can I add?

Add photos or PDFs: up to eight files for one item, up to 10 MB per file, and 40 MB per batch. The app checks your remaining storage before accepting a batch. If a scan is too large, reduce file sizes or upload smaller copies of the relevant pages.

Do I need to type every detail?

When AI reading is available, allow OpenAI to read the selected batch and we extract purchase and warranty details in the background. Review the result, especially unclear dates, model numbers, and serial numbers. Your original files remain the reference.

What if AI gets something wrong or a scan is unreadable?

Check the source image before relying on a summary. Review or correct the saved item details, and retake blurry pages where needed. A queued or failed read does not mean the warranty was registered. The app shows when a batch needs another attempt.

Can I download the original files?

Yes. Open the relevant item to view or download its saved documents. A records export contains your item information and drafts; download originals separately. Keep your own copy of especially important paperwork.

Trial & membership

How does the three-day trial work?

When subscriptions open, eligible new subscribers can choose a three-day trial with a paid plan. The trial begins only after you confirm the subscription with the payment provider. Your purchase screen shows eligibility, renewal price, billing period, and when payment starts. There is no ongoing free plan.

What will membership cost?

The planned US offer is $5 monthly or $49 yearly. The annual plan is billed once per year and costs $11 less than twelve monthly payments. Apple displays the actual localized price and eligibility before you confirm; taxes and availability can vary.

How do I cancel or request a refund?

For an Apple subscription, open Settings → your name → Subscriptions → WarrantyDaddy. Apple advises canceling a trial at least 24 hours before it ends. Deleting your account or the app does not cancel billing. Apple’s cancellation guide · Request an Apple refund. Refund eligibility is decided by the payment provider and applicable law.

Will I lose my paperwork if I cancel?

After paid access ends, you can still read and export your saved records and download originals. Adding or processing items requires an active membership. Canceling alone does not delete your vault; deleting your account is a separate action.

I paid, but my membership is missing. What should I do?

On iPhone, use Restore purchases while signed in to the WarrantyDaddy account used for the purchase and the same Apple Account that paid. Check the transaction in Apple’s subscription settings. If it still does not appear, contact support with the purchase date and a receipt reference; never send payment card details.

Privacy & your account

Who reads the photos I upload?

When you allow AI reading, the selected photos or PDFs and their contents are sent to OpenAI for extraction. Originals and results are stored with your WarrantyDaddy account. Camera access does not import your whole library. You choose each batch and give permission before uploading it for AI reading. Read the AI privacy details.

Are my documents only on my phone?

No. Uploaded originals are stored on our server so you can reach them from your account across devices. We use HTTPS and account access controls. The vault is not end-to-end encrypted. Provider processing, backup retention, and deletion limits are explained in our privacy policy.

How do I export or delete my account?

Open Account → Privacy & security. Export your records and download the original documents you want to keep before confirming account deletion. Deletion removes live account and vault records after required connected-provider steps succeed. Backup copies follow the retention described in the privacy policy. Cancel any Apple subscription separately.

I forgot my password. How can I get help?

Password reset by email is not available yet. Contact support from the email associated with your account and describe the issue. We need to verify account ownership before making changes. Never send your password, full card number, or unrelated identity documents.

Claims & getting help

Can WarrantyDaddy submit a claim or register a product for me?

You can organize evidence, edit a claim draft, and record a manufacturer reference or outcome. When claim email is available, an active Plus membership and connected warranty address let you approve the exact recipient, message and selected documents before sending. AI drafting asks permission to process your item details and saved conversation. A draft, sent email or delivery confirmation is not manufacturer acceptance. Complete manufacturer website sign-in, forms and agreements directly, then record the reference. Incoming email attachments are not automatically added to your documents. Automated manufacturer registration is not available yet.

My warranty is about to expire. What should I do?

Open the original terms and check how and when a problem must be reported. Gather proof of purchase, model and serial number, photos of the fault, and the date it began. Contact the responsible manufacturer or retailer promptly and keep their acknowledgment. Read the expiry checklist.

Does a replacement product get a new warranty?

It depends on the company’s terms and applicable law. Ask the company to confirm the replacement’s serial number, coverage end date, and claim reference in writing. Keep that confirmation with the original purchase rather than assuming the warranty starts again. Read the replacement guide.

What should I include when contacting support?

Tell us your account email, device and app version, what you were trying to do, and the exact error if one appeared. A screenshot with unrelated personal details hidden can help. Please do not send passwords or full payment details. Contact WarrantyDaddy support.
